Hmmmmm. By some weird luck, chance or whatever, I end up not having work today, August 6th which also not so coincidentally means that it is August 7th in Japan--the anticipated day when our favourite Johnny's renegade, Akanishi Jin, releases his first song after a year and a half of suspension. SO. Here's what I think about Hey, What's Up?
Just in youtube alone I've seen about four posts of its SHORT version PV (one of them posted down here, but will probably be deleted from YT in a day or two ;P), so that says a lot about how anticipated this song and Jin is.
Hey, What's Up? in my opinion, basically sums up whatever Jin might've learned or done when he was in America, which is Work, Party, Work, Party, Party, Party. Well, not like he hasn't done these in Japan already. Anyways, PARTY is the key word. It is the main recurring theme of the video, and its displayed in the video very well. It's like American-type party music video but done in Japan with Japanese themes. Jin is well, still wearing various shades, glasses and sporting a curly messy hair. There's more dancing in the video as well which is very very good because we all love seeing Jin dance.
Well despite its obvious American influence the song is very catchy, much more than Jin's english songs. It's awesome, and makes me wish he makes more of these Japanese dance songs more than english ones because he's five times better at the former than the latter.
